What the Dulwich Alliance wants

June 23, 2021

Because of all our criticisms of the Council’s road measures in Dulwich – no traffic or air pollution data, no Equality Impact Assessment, no proper replies to objections, no understanding of traffic displacement, no consultation with shops and businesses – it can sometimes seem as if the Dulwich Alliance is always talking about what we are against, not what we are for.

So here’s a summary of what we want – ten reasonable and straightforward demands that will enable the Council to work with the community to achieve its overall objectives for healthy streets in the Dulwich area.

Failings of the Dulwich Review survey

June 15, 2021

An independent evaluation of the Dulwich Review survey says that “The Review’s approach falls far short of what should be expected of a serious attempt to establish stakeholders’ views.” Read the full report here.

The final public consultation meeting is today, 19 June from 2pm to 4pm. Tickets are free, but you have to register: https://dulwichreview.eventbrite.co.uk.

Please note that we’re still waiting for Southwark to supply, as promised, data (traffic counts, air quality, etc), recordings of the previous public meetings on 23 and 26 May, written answers to the questions raised, a date for the meeting with local businesses, and FAQs.

This is surprising as there are only three more weeks to go before the review ends on 11 July.

Help us get to £15,000

June 10, 2021

We have now reached £13,700 in our GoFundMe fundraising campaign, which is an amazing achievement. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

We’re getting new donations every day, but it would be great to reach our target of £15,000.

Anyone who donates receives regular updates on how we are spending the money. Please go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-end-road-closures-in-dulwich.

Query to Southwark about another road closure

June 8, 2021

Will the closure of another road near Dulwich Village junction be part of the current review? An open letter (8 June 2021) to Southwark’s Director of Environment.
