The Dulwich Alliance

The Dulwich Alliance is an area-wide alliance of local groups, open to residents, traders, businesses, health centres, schools, societies and organisations, set up in December 2020 to ask Southwark Council for a fairer and more socially just solution to traffic problems in the Dulwich area.

We believe that all roads are equally important, and that residential A-roads like Lordship Lane, East Dulwich Grove, Croxted Road and Dulwich Common are core to the solution. The Alliance strongly supports Southwark Council’s stated aims of reducing pollution and encouraging active modes of travel such as walking and cycling. But we also believe that any restrictions to reduce traffic must be part of a holistic, area-wide scheme, and must allow fair and reasonable access during the hours of closure (key issues for local consultation).

The measures have been brought in by Southwark Council, but are affecting residents and businesses in Lambeth, too. We are urging councillors across the area to work together.

Please join us. See our recent leaflets, and request more copies, by clicking LEAFLETS on the menu. Find out where to pick up a poster to display in your window by clicking POSTERS. (One group has designed the big green STOP signs you can see on roads around Dulwich – email us for more details.) Follow us on Twitter @AllianceDulwich, or email us at dulwichalliance@gmail.com. Please also contribute to our FIGHTING FUND (click below).
